ASHEVILLE — Elder Bonnell Brown, 94, of Providence Road, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012.

Mr. Brown was born September 8, 1917 in Buncombe County to the late Jess Brown and the late Mary Ball Brown. He had resided in Haywood County in his younger years and later moved to Asheville where he had made his home most of his life.  Mr. Brown honorably served during World War II in the 30th Signal Company Infantry Division in North Africa and Sicily. He was a graduate of Cecils Business College in Asheville and later became employed with Olin Corporation as the Director of Human Resources for 27 dedicated years.
