Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Johnson Clark
SEAFORD, VIRGINIA — Elizabeth “Betsy” Johnson Clark, 72, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed peacefully Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at her home after a heroic battle with cancer.
Born April 17, 1942, in Windsor, she lived most of her life in Seaford, Virginia. Betsy was a graduate of Windsor High School. She received her associate degree from Chowan College, attended N.C. State University and earned her degree in medical technology from Rex Hospital in Raleigh. She retired from York County Schools after a successful career caring for students at Grafton Bethel Elementary School as the school nurse and secretary.
Betsy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Alan Bruce Clark Sr.; two sons and their wives, Alan and Jodi Clark, and Tony and Ann Clark; eight grandchildren, Jordan, Ashlen, Leigh-Ann, Amber, Brian, Casie, Austin and Brooke-Lynn.
The family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at Amory Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 6, at Peninsual Memorial Park.
