Enjoy Amici Music with Dan Weiser and the Posnock couple on April 16
BLACK MOUNTAIN — The classic song opines “April in Paris! What have you done to my heart!” Maybe a voyage to the City of Lights isn’t in the cards this Spring, but a trip to the White Horse Black Mountain on Sunday, April 16 at 3 p.m. will provide plenty of Gallic charm in the meantime.
AmiciMusic’s “April in Paris” program features atmospheric compositions by Poulenc, Saint-Saens, Gaubert, Ibert and Martinu scored for piano, flute, and violin.
Musical couple Jason and Dilshad Posnock, playing violin and flute respectively, are making their debut with AmiciMusic. Jason is familiar to Asheville music lovers as Concertmaster of the Asheville Symphony and is director of artistic planning and educational programs at the Brevard Music Center. Dilshad is also on the Brevard faculty and has concertized across the U.S. England, Puerto Rico and India
AmiciMusic means "music among friends", and was founded by musical director and pianist Daniel Weiser to make chamber music accessible in informal and unconventional settings.
Weiser is a former Asheville resident who now lives in Baltimore, where he directs another chamber music outreach organizations. He’s a powerful and deeply musical player who bring authority and artistry to many styles, including classical, jazz and theater music.
The show starts at 3 pm. Tickets are $18 advance/$20 door.
