Canton — Ernestine Florence Fisher Farr, 75, of Shull Circle, entered into her Heavenly home Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.
Mrs. Farr was born October 11, 1937 in Haywood County to the late John Henry Norman and the late Willie Mae Sharp Norman Holley. She had made her home in New York before returning to Canton and the mountains that she loved and resided here for the past 13 years. Ernestine retired as a certified nursing assistant with the Hospice Program in New York. She was a dedicated member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and where she proudly served as a member of the usher board. Ernestine was an active member of the Canton Senior Citizens Program and everyone blessed to know her loved her dearly. She loved life and enjoyed life to the fullest. She never met a stranger and her sweet smile and her bright, caring and loving eyes will always be remembered by her family and her many friends. Ernestine deeply loved her family and her great-grandson truly held a special place in her heart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Macon and her best friend and mate for life, Anthony Oldham.
Surviving are her daughter, Vanessa Fisher of Canton and Michael Partin of Raleigh; a granddaughter, Holli Partin of Canton; a great- grandson, Kenyon Moore of Canton; a niece, Teresa “Terry” Macon of New York; a great niece, Meisha Macon of New York; a great-great nephew, Shelton Macon of New York and many, many friends that loved her dearly.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Williams will be officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Town Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
