CANTON – Ethel Taylor Burrell, 84, of Circle Drive, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at The Homestead.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Taylor and Mora Rathbone. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Luther Burrell, and an infant son, George William Burrell. Ethel loved her family, working in her garden and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Ellis Burrell, and his wife, Traci; four daughters, Peggy Donaldson, Sharon Pace, Kathy Stokely, and her husband, Fred, all of Clyde, and Mary Ellen Locklear, of Canton; two stepdaughters; a stepson; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Revs. Barry Clark and Chris Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
