WAYNESVILLE — Evelyn Hattie Keener Cutshaw, 73, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at the Brian Center of Waynesville.

A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Lillie Martha Strickland Keener.  Evelyn was also preceded in death by five sisters, Cora Dills, Ruth McMahan, Estlee Melton, Cecil McMahan and Louise Shuler; two brothers, Ralph and Glenn “Shot” Keener; and three infant siblings, Boyd, Charles and Nova. Evelyn was a homemaker for most of her life but had worked in Haywood County school cafeterias for 10 years.  She was a member of Cove Creek Baptist Church and always enjoyed visits from her friends and family, playing bingo and making hats for her tea parties.
