Excellence in Education

Throughout the 2012- 2013 school year, teachers from Haywood County Schools will be recognized for their commitment and dedication to the students of Haywood County. This program is sponsored by Jack Bishop of Edward Jones and the Haywood County Schools Foundation.  Teachers will be recognized from all sixteen Haywood County Schools.  Jenny Wood, Executive Director of the Haywood County Schools Foundation said, “Haywood County has outstanding teachers who often go unrecognized for their hard work.”

In the month of May Elena Bryant from Canton Middle School, Stephanie Morgan from Pisgah High School, Will Hicks from North Canton Elementary School and Michelle Davis from Meadowbrook Elementary School were recognized for their Excellence in Education.  Representatives from Mr. Bishop’s, Edward Jones office, the Foundation, Dr. Bill Nolte, Associate Superintendent of Haywood County Schools and Ron Moss, Elementary Supervisor for Haywood County Schools presented the teachers with a Certificate of Appreciation and $100 check sponsored by Mr. Bishop. “Teachers constantly spend their own money out of their own pocket to purchase supplies for their students. Teachers shape the future of our young students and it is important that we as community partners support educators “said Mr. Bishop.
