The Haywood County Fairgrounds Volunteer Council hosted an auction Nov. 3, to raise funds for fairgrounds operations.  Ed Johnson Auctions donated time to auction items donated by members of the community.

The Volunteer Council helped to pick up items from donors’ homes and organize the items for sale.  The council is grateful to vendors from the indoor flea market, held earlier that day, for the generous donations at the end of their sale.

While the group of bidders was small, they stepped up to bid on items, ranging from furniture to tools to vintage Christmas ornaments.  Administrative coordinator Sam Smith organized the event. As a result, the fairgrounds earned more than $700 to help to support the facility and its programs.
