The 2012 Haywood County Truck Pull will be held Saturday, June 23, at the Great Smokies Arena, the same site of the fair, 758 Crabtree Road, in Waynesville. Entries will begin at 9 and the pull will follow at 11 a.m.
Aaron Mabry, fairgrounds director, said the last truck pull was a success.
“We barely had standing room,” said Mabry. “It was amazing to see the arena full of event goers and more importantly, families enjoying a fun-filled afternoon without having to go the Asheville or Gatlinburg.”  
Mabry stressed the need for the public’s support for activities at the fairgrounds.
“We’re a nonprofit that’s operating sans county funding,” he said.
