Falcons soar past Mountaineers
After starting the season with a five-game losing streak, the Tuscola varsity football team had finally turned things around and were streaking in the other direction — or so they thought.
The fears of a post-Pisgah letdown that loomed in the back of the Mountaineers’ minds were realized as the West Henderson Falcons flew into C.E. Weatherby Stadium and touched down in the game’s final minute to hand Tuscola a shocking 26-21 loss.
The last time the Falcons beat the Mountaineers was on October 4, 1996 by a score of 21-20. Tuscola drops to 3-6 overall (3-2 WNCAC) while West Henderson improves to 3-6 overall (2-3 WNCAC).
