The agents and staff of Haywood County Farm Bureau became Santa’s honorary elves for 28 deserving children in Haywood County.  When the boxes started streaming in, it was overwhelming at the love and Christmas spirit that came with them.  The Haywood County office was abuzz with wrapping paper, scissors and tape as gifts came in.  The staff members traded  coupons, fought Black Friday crowds and logged on Cyber Monday to get the most out of their dollars.

Staffers shopped and wrapped from names provided by Haywood County DSS representative Linda Tollefson.  They will be picked up and delivered via Santa and his sleigh for Christmas Day.

"The true meaning of Christmas is what we can do for others, said Wendy Smathers Carver, agency manager for the  Haywood County Farm Bureau,

1520 Asheville Road, in Waynesville. For information, call 452-1425.
