Farm to Table at Lake Junaluska: eat fresh, support local farmers

By Lake Junaluska Center | Jun 26, 2013

As part of the Lake Junaluska Centennial Celebration, sample some of the freshest homegrown foods and support the community at the Farm to Table dinner Tuesday, July 2.

The evening’s menu comes courtesy of local farmers and growers, with most of the produce provided by Christopher’s Farms in Waynesville, N.C.

“When we started to consider an all-local cuisine meal we had no idea how popular the event would become,” said Derrick Robinson, Lake Junaluska’s food service director. “With so many local growers of vegetables, beef, chicken and trout, it became the perfect match … showcasing local items and presenting the best possible foods.”

The dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. in the tent beside Stuart Auditorium. Tickets are limited to the first 100 sold and are $27 for ages 12 and older and $13.50 for children 6 to 11. Children under 6 are free.

Tickets may be purchased at Lake Junaluska’s Bethea Welcome Center. Deadline to purchase tickets is June 29 at 5 p.m.  For more information about Lake Junaluska's Centennial Celebration, visit
