Kenneth Farmer, a rising sophomore at Pisgah High School, recently won the state championship for the National Field Archery Association indoor competition.

The competition took place at Bowed Up Archery in Maggie Valley, which sponsors Farmer. He qualified for the event in January and then took home first place at the competition in March.

During the competition, Farmer set two state records for scoring 300 in 5-spot target shooting and scoring a 295 in the Vegas Round.

Farmer has made several achievements this year as a part of Pisgah High School's sportsmans club, which won this year's NC Youth Hunter Education State Championships. He has also taken home several individual awards including champion archer with a perfect score of 200 in the Midwest Shootdown Invitational held in Bethel in February.
