The Lens Luggers of WNC set the dates for its field photography program with Bob Grytten leading the field shoots Wednesday mornings, with Tuesday evening group discussions. Participants will meet at 8 a.m. Wednesday mornings Aug. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at the Old Armory Waynesville Rec Center, at 44 Boundary St., and car pool to various locations. On Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 5,12,19 and 26 they will gather at the Old Armory Rec Center to review the morning shoots and discuss composition, lighting solutions, exposures, and equipment. Included will be area waterfalls, Landscapes, close ups, and an early morning wildlife shoot in Cataloochee Valley with brunch.

"Getting the most from the equipment we have,” said Grytten, “is something we will emphasize. While all levels of skill will be welcome, everyone will benefit as we do a lot of hands on assistance at every level.”

The program will also explore the use of HDR, ND filters and soft fill flash as ways to handle problem light and exposure. A 20 percent discount is offered to participants taking all sessions, or individual events may also be attended. The cost is $45 for the Wednesday morning shoots and $15 for the Tuesday evening class events. Participants will receive Lens Lugger membership, which includes discount programs, opportunities to publish their work and an ongoing newsletter. Awards and premium handouts will be provided by Think Tank Photo and PhotoSourceInternational.

Space is limited and early registration is encouraged. For registration, contact Grytten at 627-0245 or or
