The Fines Creek Blue Grass Jam, held annually the past 15 years, will see a change in date this year from the last weekend in August to the second weekend of the month, Aug. 9 to 10.  Trisha Fricks is serving as chairperson for the event, assisted by Charles and Mary Ann Teague and a committee of volunteers.

Attendance at the Jam has dropped over the past two years because of competition from other events held the same weekend, primarily the Haywood County Fair (the date was changed in recent years to the same weekend of the Fines Creek festival).

Fines Creek’s family-friendly August event is a destination point for lovers of bluegrass music.  The lineup of performers will be announced as soon as information is available.  Trisha Fricks may be contacted at 627-3080 or email
