Fines Creek quilt square dedication is Sept. 30
Members of the community center, neighbors, alumni and dignitaries will gather to dedicate the Dead Man in the Creek Quilt Square at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Fines Creek Community Center gym, 190 Fines Creek Road, in Clyde.
The eight-foot plywood square was custom designed to represent the story of how Fines Creek got its name. It is an important square on the Haywood Quilt Trail as it leads visitors into the northern part of the county.
Music and free popcorn will help celebrate the installation of the quilt square on the historic gymnasium wall. All are invited to hear the story of the Dead Man in the Creek. Call 627-1912.
