Fire destroys sawmill at Haywood Community College

CLYDE — The sawmill at Haywood Community College has been destroyed after a fire broke out Monday night. Fire departments from across the country responded to the blaze, which was called in at 9:38 p.m. Haywood County Fire Marshall Johnny Glance, who was on the scene, has no information yet about the possible cause for the fire and estimated the investigation could take several days.

When asked how much of the building remained, he replied simply, "Oh, it's all gone."

No one was injured.

I am so sorry for the loss. I hope the mill can be rebuilt soon and even better...
