First place Bears stay undefeated in WNCAC
CANTON — The Pisgah varsity girls basketball team is for real.
The Black Bears moved to 5-0 in the WNC Athletic Conference after trouncing North Henderson, 66-37, at home on Tuesday and whipping West Henderson, 65-44, on the road Wednesday night.
Pisgah, which also improved to 9-5 overall, plays at Smoky Mountain tonight.
Leading the Black Bears in the two games was freshman foward Brooklyn Allen, who finished with a game-highs against the Knights (20 points) and the Falcons (24 points).
In the North Henderson game, junior guard Sheridan Pressley chipped in nine points and senior guard Taylor Galyean added 12. Pisgah led 29-20 at the half and broke open the contest in the third with a 23 point explosion to hold a 52-28 advantage going into the final eight minutes.
