Fisher rushes over Jets

Fab freshman runs for 281 yards and 3 TDs

ENKA — Freshman running back Isaiah Fisher rushed for 281 yards on 27 carries and scored on runs of 21, 15 and 53 yards to lead the Pisgah junior varsity football team to a 30-14 season opening victory over Enka Thursday evening.
The Black Bears (1-0) rushed for 372 yards, while quarterback Houston Rogers went 5-of-7 for 49 yards to finish with 421 yards in total offense compared to Enka’s 231 yards (55 in the first half).
Fisher gave Pisgah a six point lead when he bolted for a 21-yard TD run with 5:45 left in the first quarter. (Houston) Rogers connected with Chris Rogers on the conversion to give the Black Bears an 8-0 lead.
Just more than a minute later, (Chris) Rogers scored on an 11-yard run and Fisher ran in the conversion to make it 16-0 in favor of the Black Bears with 4:11 left in the first quarter.
Just under one minute left before halftime, Fisher scored his second TD on a beautiful 11-yard run but was denied the goal line on the conversion as Pisgah went into the break leading the Jets, 22-0.
On the Black Bears’ second play from the line of scrimmage in the second half, Fisher took it to the house from his own 47 yard line and (Houston) Rogers tossed the conversion pass to Garrett Jones to increase Pisgah’s lead to 30-0 with 8:58 left in the game.
In addition to Fisher’s super night on the offensive side of the ball, (Chris) Rogers had 35 rushing yards on nine carries and one reception for three yards, while (Garrett) Jones finished with 56 yards on the ground on 11 carries and caught two passes for 16 yards. Christian Jones caught one pass for 21 yards and Trey Morgan hauled in a pass for nine yards.
