Haywood County residents with cable television access can easily get up to speed on local candidates who will be on the November ballot.

Candidate forums held by Mountaineer Publishing, Inc. are now on running daily on the government access channel, which is channel 193 for Charter customers and channel 2 for Carolina Mountain Cablevision.

The forums featuring legislative and county commissioner candidates is airing at 7 a.m., noon, 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. daily. The forums featuring school board and judicial candidates will be shown immediately afterward.

County residents without cable access can check out DVDs of the forums at all library branches in the county, or those with Internet access can watch the forums on The Mountaineer’s YouTube channel or website through links in this story.

In addition, The Mountaineer is writing in-depth articles about the races, delving into some of the contradictory statements made by the candidates, so voters who don’t have the time to watch the candidates live can simply keep on reading.
