Food, friends and funSarge's Furry Friends Benefit Bash packs the house
Walking room was scarce last week at Laurel Ridge Country Club, when hundreds of Sarge’s supporters and lovers of furry friends wined and dined at the annual Furry Friends Benefit Bash — raising funds for Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation.
Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and mingling while looking at a silent auction, before dinner and booming live auction kept the crowd busy and entertained. This was the third year in a row the fun event has been sold-out.
The voice of Todd Thompson, owner of Thompson Carr Auction in Sevierville, Tennessee echoed through the country club throughout the evening, raising thousands for a great cause.
Sarge’s executive director Laura Ivey spoke to the guests, giving them the good news that Sarge's has saved more than 7,000 Haywood County dogs and cats in its 10-year history.
Nadean McArthur won the ‘Tag-Along Work Day’ with the Haywood Co. sheriff’s office, and Kathy Greeley won the ‘Tag-Along Work Day’ with the Waynesville PD. Both winners bid $5,000, which is a ‘win’ for Sarge’s mission to save homeless dogs and cats in Haywood County.
