Forest Service gives hunting and fishing safety tips
ASHEVILLE — Turkey season began Saturday, April 5 in North Carolina. Youth season lasts through April 11, while the season for all hunters opens April 12 and continues through May 10.
Whether you're a hunter or non-hunter, there are some simple safety tips you can follow to make sure you and others stay safe during hunting season. For example, wear blaze orange when in the national forests. A complete list of safety tips is posted here.
Also, many anglers are already hitting the waterways of North Carolina in search of a big catch.
Hunters and anglers must have the proper licenses and know the regulations when recreating in the national forests.
