CANTON — Fredrick Alan King, 61, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, who lived a full life, who loved and was loved, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013.
Fred was a native of Asheville, a graduate of Asheville High School and was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a resident of Canton and was the owner of King & Associates. He was also employed at the Asheville Regional Airport as a TSA officer. Fred loved fishing, crafting and being with family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Cody; a daughter Kelley King of Weaverville; sons, Jason Ray and Tracee of Sylva, Bryan Ray and Paula of Arden and Phillip Ray of Canton; a brother, Danny King of South Carolina; sisters, Judy Trantham of Florida and Tammy King–Stephenson of Asheville; eight grandchildren and his mother-in-law, Dr. Colleen Cody of Asheville.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 in the chapel of Crawford/Ray Funeral Home with Eddie Hollifield officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the celebration of life service.
