Free bike clinics offered in May
In honor of National Bicycle Month, BicycleHaywoodNC, in conjunction with Haywood County Recreation and Parks, is hosting two beginner bicycle clinics during the month of May.
Each of the clinics will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Clyde Elementary School. The clinic includes a 30-minute educational session followed by practice in a safe area to learn correct bicycle and traffic skills, and a short ride through Clyde.
The dates of the clinics are Saturday, May 10 and May 31. Each clinic will follow the same format, so participants may only need to attend on session but are welcome to attend all three.
There is no cost for the clinics. Participants must be at least 13-years of age. Participants ages 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult. Helmets and closed-toed shoes are required and water or sports drink is recommended.
Pre-registration is required. Call Haywood County Recreation Department at 452-6789 to register.
