Free blood pressure checks at the Haywood County Fair Aug. 22
While at the Haywood County Fair this week, stop by the Haywood Lodge booth on Senior Day from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 for a free blood pressure check. Haywood Lodge nursing staff members will be available to take your blood pressure and also to answer questions you might have about Assisted Living options in Haywood County. The booth, stocked with brochures, will be at the fair beginning Wednesday, Aug. 21, and ending Sunday, Aug. 25 for anyone who would like to drop by for general information.
Haywood Lodge, Spicewood Cottages and Creekside Villas all have licensed and certified staff available 24 hours a day, including RNs, LPNs, phlebotomists, medicine technicians, certified nursing assistants, certified personal care assistants, certified dietary managers and certified activities coordinators to help with all aspects of residents’ care. The well-trained employees work closely with physicians to fulfill the specific needs of each resident. Clinical support staff includes therapists, lab technicians, podiatrists for foot and nail care, a pharmacist who reviews medications quarterly and a pharmacy that delivers daily to each facility.
The Haywood County Fair booth will also have sign-up sheets and information about the upcoming American Red Cross Blood Drive from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Haywood Lodge. In addition to the blood drive, there will be activities for kids, a dunking booth with some of our staff members as "dunkees," free popcorn, prize raffles, a "Slammer" to see who can hit the target hardest, live music and karaoke. Stop by to sign up, and spread the word about the blood drive. Those who are not able to make it to the fair can call 456-8365 or visit www.HaywoodLodge.com to sign up.
