Sleep apnea program June 25

By Waynesville Parks and Recreation Department | Jun 23, 2014

Mountaineer Oxygen Services, Inc. will host a free program on understanding sleep apnea at the Waynesville Recreation Center on Wednesday, June 25. The program will begin at 10 a.m.

Many people have sleep apnea but may not even know it. In fact, sleep apnea affects more than three in 10 men and nearly one in five women, so it is more common than you may think.

It’s important to recognize some of the common symptoms and understand why you may be feeling so tired and find out what to do if you do have sleep apnea. The following topics will be discussed:

What is sleep apnea?

What are the symptoms of sleep apnea?

What other health conditions are associated with sleep apnea?

How is sleep apnea diagnosed and treated?

This educational session will be led by Heath Sutton, RRT, owner of Mountaineer Oxygen Services, Inc. For more information please call the Waynesville Parks and Recreation Department at 456-2030.
