Friends of the Museum dinner to be Aug. 9

The annual Friends of the Museum Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at the Lambuth Inn at Lake Junaluska. The program will feature Dr. Charles Brockwell, a well-respected Kentucky Conference minister and theologian. An open house at the World Methodist Council Museum will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. prior to the dinner.

Brockwell, who is the son-in-law of Dr. Wright Spears, will speak on the topic, "Getting It Straight about Aldersgate." This year marks the 275th anniversary of Wesley's Aldersgate experience. Special music will also be provided.

Make reservations by calling the World Methodist Council Museum at 456-9432 or by visiting the World Methodist Council office.The cost is $18 per person (which includes tax and tip), and may be paid for by check, cash, or credit card. All may also join or renew their membership in the Friends at this time ($25 minimum donation).
