Frog Level Brewing Company, Waynesville's first micro-brewery, celebrated its first anniversary Dec. 14 with a bash attended by hundreds. The evening-long celebration included music by two bands, The Mixx, from Asheville, and the Grammy-nominated Darren Nicholson Band. Beer lovers from all over Haywood County enjoyed the tasting room, five of its beers on tap, and the seasonal release of FLBC's "Ale be Home for Christmas."

Many of the patrons brought toys for the U.S. Marine Corp's Toys for Tots drive, and Marines were on hand to thank the patrons. There was dancing, tasting good craft beer, and holiday merriment was evident in the happy crowd.

FLBC brews are being distributed at several local restaurants, and are always available at the tasting room in Frog Level.

"It's a true joy to know my beer is out there and people are asking for it," said owner and brewmaster Clark Williams.

The joy was all Haywood County's Friday night.
