Funeral for fallen fireman WednesdayCause of fire still unknown
Around 7 p.m. Saturday, April 6, firefighters with the North Canton Fire Department were dispatched to a fire and were the first on the scene at Pandora Circle, where their friend and fellow fireman Brandon Burgess lived.
When they arrived there were flames coming from the house and after working their way inside, they found Burgess unconscious.
He was immediately transported to MedWest Haywood where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The 28-year-old left behind his wife, Jamie, who is 24, and two young children ages 6 and 1. His family lost everything in the fire that night.
His sister-in-law, Tara Allen, said his wife and children were not home at the time of the fire, but were waiting for him to come to dinner at a family member's home.
"He was very well loved by everyone," said his sister-in-law, Tara Allen.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10 at North Canton Baptist Church. A donation fund has been created for the family at Champion Credit Union under "Burgess Family Fund."
