Garrett named regional Superintendent of the Year

Anne G. Garrett, superintendent of Haywood County Schools, has been named the Region 8 Superintendent of the Year.

This honor includes a nomination as a candidate for the 2014 A. Craig Phillips North Carolina Superintendent of the Year Award. The nomination is highly recognized commendation for her work and accomplishments of Haywood County Schools.

The North Carolina Superintendent of the Year will be announced at the North Carolina Schools Board Association Conference in Greensboro on Nov. 12, 2013.  The state winner will go on to competition for the national award to be offered by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA.)

“It is a real honor to be named Region 8 Superintendent of the Year by my peers," Garrett said. "There are many outstanding superintendents in our region.  This award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of many Haywood County students, staff and community members.”
