Get out and enjoy fall’s display

Oct 16, 2012

Just look around. This is prime leaf-viewing time in Haywood County.
So, pack a picnic, take a camera and a hiking stick, and head into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or travel the Blue Ridge Parway.  Waterrock Knob, at milepost 451, has picnic tables, restrooms and a visitor’s center.
While there has been fog on the parkway, one area may be fogged in, while another is clear, as these two photographs, taken just miles apart last Sunday show.
There is fall color in abundance all around in Haywood County — so enjoy.
