Jazz pianist, WCU professor Pavel Wlosok to perfrom March 14

Enjoy a great evening of jazz standards and original music by pianist Pavel Wlosok at 7 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the Classic Wineseller.

Wlosok is an accomplished jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and educator born in the Czech Republic. For the past 18 years, he has claimed residency in the U.S. and is a full-time tenured jazz faculty professor at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee.

A musician for over 30 years, Wlosok performs at jazz festivals, jazz clubs, and various jazz venues both in the U.S. and in Europe. He is highly sought after as a guest teacher at music clinics, master classes, and teaches at summer jazz camps in Europe. For more information, visit www.pavelwlosok.com.

At 7 p.m. Saturday, March 15, get in touch with your inner Romani with gypsy jazz music by Don Mercz, guitar; Michael Pilgrim, mandolin; and, Drew Kirkpatrick, guitar. Mercz and Pilgrim have been playing music together for over 30 years. Newcomer Kirkpatrick shares their affinity for the passionate and exhilaratingly up-tempo gypsy jazz and swing music.

The Wineseller’s restaurant opens at 5:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays serving freshly prepared small plate fare.
