GOP goes for win, no compromises
The two top leaders of the National Republican Congressional Committee visited Haywood Friday to support 11th Congressional District candidate Mark Meadows.
Both Pete Sessions, committee chairman, and Greg Walden, the deputy chairman, were on hand to attend a fund-raising breakfast for Meadows and meet with voters in the area.
Meadows was tapped as a candidate worthy of support the first time he visited caucus representatives.
“I was confident literally the day he walked in our office,” Sessions said. “His first words were, ‘I’m worried about our country.’”
Both said Meadows has presented himself and his ideas in a way that’s consistent with a vast majority of people in the district. They are confident the 11th Congressional seat will be back in the Republican win column in November.
