Grover Wade Golden

ROGERSVILLE, TENNESSEE — Grover Wade Golden, 65, of Rogersville, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina with a bachelor's degree in math and physics. Grover was the owner and operator of the Golden Transportation Company. He was an avid horseman with a love for Tennessee Walking Horses and Racking Horses. Grover had a long show career and loved trail riding at Walnut Bottoms. He had many extended friends in the horse industry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wade Golden, and brother, William "Bill" Golden.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Darling Golden, of the home; mother, Elisabeth A. Golden; brother, Larry Golden, and wife, Mildred; sister-in-law, Frances Golden Adamson, all of Waynesville; three nephews and their families, Will Golden, Mark Golden and Matthew Golden; special friends, John and Cindy Williams, Laura and Annie Holcombe, Jerry and Teresa Thompson and Rick Ramsey and family and his assistants.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Rogersville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service.
