Hannah, Arrington belt three homers in 22-0 romp over Knights

Tuscola baseball beats North Henderson in 10 innings, 3-2, Worrell closes door and gets win

EDNEYVILLE — Melo Hannah belted a pair of homers and Sarah Arrington crushed one round-tripper in leading the offensive Tuscola varsity softball team to a 22-0 five-inning, mercy-rule victory over the Knights.
Tuscola junior righty Jordan Kielson hurled the shutout from inside the circle to earn the win. She scattered three hits, walked one and struck out eight Knights.
The Mountaineers’ 18-hit attack was led by Savannah Buchanan who had four hits, including a double, three RBI and she scored three runs. Hannah (2B, 2 HR, 3 R, 5 RBI), Kielson (2 2B) and Carver (3 2B, 4 R, RBI) had three hits each, while Allison Plafcan (3 RBO, 3 R) had two hits.
Tuscola plays at Pisgah on Tuesday with the first pitch set for 4:30 p.m. from the Diamond on the River Complex in Canton.

EDNEYVILLE — The Tuscola varsity baseball team went 10 innings to decide its WNC Athletic Conference road game at North Henderson.
The Mountaineers scored the eventual game winnner in the top of the 10th to break a 2-2 game to win its first WNCAC game of the season, 3-2, over the Knights.
Tuscola improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference, while North Henderson sinks to 2-3 overall and 0-3 in the WNCAC play.
Nick Worrell pitched the final three spotless innings, striking out five to get the win.
At the plate for the Mountaineers, junior Travis Nelson had two hit and scored a pair of runs.
The Mountaineers will play at 7 p.m. against arch-rival Pisgah Tuesday night at Wells Ballpark in Canton.
