Catch the Christmas spirit The ‘Hard Candy Christmas’ craft art and show is celebrating its 25th year as a ‘Mountain Christmas Tradition,’ in Western North Carolina. Always held the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, the show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 23 to 24, at the Ramsey Center on the campus of Western Carolina University.
This year’s featured artist is a Tennessee native and sculptor, Debra Parker Romero. She hand sculpts “Old World” Santas, elves, fantasy figures and ornaments. Each costume is sewn with fine fabrics.
The show will include heritage and contemporary crafts, folk art , fine art clay and glass art ,hand quilting, wood craft, gourd art and unique potters.
Admission is $4 for a weekend pass for adults; children under 12 are free. There are concessions in the building.
