HART auditions for 'Hello Dolly'

The HART Theatre will hold auditions at 6:30 p.m. May 4 and 5 for its biggest show of the year, the Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical, “Hello Dolly,” at the HART Theatre, 250 Pigeon St. in Waynesville.

The theater is casting all supporting roles, vocal and dance ensemble for the production which opens on July 11.

“Hello Dolly is set in New York City in the 1890s and is based on the play “The Matchmaker” by Thorton Wilder. It tells the story of Dolly Levi, who is engaged by Horice Vandegelder to find him a match.

The show has lavish production numbers and a large ensemble. HART’s production is being directed by Steve Lloyd, music director is Bradley Martin and Choreographer is Cord Scott.

Those wishing to audition should come with sheet music prepared to sing. There are some limited non-singing roles in the show as well. Rehearsals are generally in the evenings during the week and will not begin until after May 19.
