HART presents Tony Award-winning drama 'Frozen'

Feb 12, 2014

HART’s Winter Studio Season has had two hits in a row, and now comes the third offering for the winter, the Tony Award Winning drama “Frozen” by Bryony Lavery.

The play, set in present day England, tells the story of the disappearance of a 10-year-old girl, Rhona and follows the girl’s mother and killer over the years that follow. They are linked by a doctor who is studying what causes men to commit such crimes. The themes of the play include emotional paralysis and forgiveness.  The title is a metaphor of the state all four characters are in at the beginning of the play, and the journey they each take to thaw.

HART’s production is being directed by Andrew Gall, the artistic director of Parkway Playhouse and the cast includes Eric Martinez (“La Cage” and “Falsettoland”) Frances Davis (“Sweeny Todd”) and a newcomer to the HART stage Jennifer Russ.

“Frozen” received rave reviews in New York and London. The play is the third in HART’s winter studio season which so far has included “Agnes of God” and “Other Desert Cities” both sold out hits.
