The Haywood County Chamber of Commerce Women in Business and the Young Professionals of Haywood’s “Partners in Leadership” mentoring program continues to make an impact on Young Professional Women in Haywood County. In celebration of National Mentoring Month, 28 Leadership Coaches and Young Professional Women began the nine month mentoring program.

According to Nyda Bittmann-Neville, VP, Director of Marketing and Communications, Asheville Savings Bank, “Our community is fortunate to have female leaders in key positions helping to grow and enhance businesses. With our new “Partners in Leadership” program, the goal is to continue to provide such leadership in the future.”

“Partners in Leadership” is designed to prepare Haywood County Young Professional Women (YPW) to become future business leaders by connecting them with seasoned Women in Business (WIB) professionals (Leadership Coaches) in their field. Through a formal mentor-mentee relationship, Leadership Coaches (WIB) will guide Young Professional Women (YPW) through the process of developing professional/career goals, and helping them gain the skills necessary to achieve them.

"The impact the Partners in Leadership program will have on business women of all ages is very exciting” said Jennifer Jacobson YPH “Partners in Leadership” Chair.  “It is wonderful to see seasoned professionals come alongside younger women in business to mentor and share advice as they advance in their respective careers."

The Partners in Leadership Program aims to increase the number of young females in mid and upper management and in volunteer, civic and public service leadership positions in Haywood County; through the development of professional networks among women in business, preparing young female professionals to become future business leaders and by making a difference in the career goals, overall growth and professional development of YPWs.

The Partners in Leadership Program’s Pilot phase will conclude Fall of 2013. Interested Young Professionals and Women in Business are encouraged to apply.
