Haywood Chamber Women in Business to host “A Cyclist’s Journey to Silver” Luncheon
The Haywood Chamber of Commerce Women in Business will host speaker and Olympic Silver Medalist, Lauren Tamayo and her session titled, “A Cyclist’s Journey to Silver”, presented by HomeTrust Bank, November 5, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Gateway Club.
Lauren is a veteran rider with 15 years racing experience. A multiple Junior and U23 National Champion and Pan American Champion, Lauren is also a National Team member who has represented the U.S. in both the Junior and Elite World Championships for both the track and road. She is a phenomenal athlete and truly selfless teammate.
Lauren has also posted top results herself, with many podium finishes, including 3rd in GC at the Tour of Bretagne with the National Team, 3rd in GC at the Womens Tour of Montreal. Recently Lauren has been focusing on the track in the Womens Team pursuit and has posted top results on the world’s stage. Lauren has shown that she is a versatile rider with results to show both on the road and on the track.
Join the Haywood Chamber of Commerce Women in Business for this not-to-miss luncheon as Lauren Tamayo shares her journey as a cyclist winning the silver medal at the London Olympics. Since becoming an Olympic medalist, she has inspired children as well as adults to not only bike, but exercise to health.
