Haywood Community Band will honor founding director Nov. 3

The Haywood Community Band will present a special Waynesville concert honoring the memory of founding director Bob Hill. This free concert will be presented at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 at the First United Methodist Church, located at 566 S. Haywood St. in Waynesville. Selections will include Joplin’s Ragtime Follies, the Symphonic Beatles and Greensleeves: A Fantasia for Band.

The band would like to thank Haywood County residents and visitors who have attended other concerts presented at the Maggie Valley concert series. The band owes its success to loyal music lovers, and would also like to express appreciation to local media for advertising performances.

The band’s next concert series will start on the third Sunday of May 2014, and will continue monthly through October 2014.
