Haywood County GOP “Run Off” Candidate Forum Tuesday, June 26th
Haywood County GOP “Run Off” Candidate Forum June 26th
Tuesday, June 26th at 7:00 P.M.
Haywood County Historic Courthouse
Many voters are not aware that an election in July will decide the Republican positions of US Congressional Representative for District 11; and state-wide for Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Insurance Commissioner.
Tuesday, June 26th at 7:00 pm, several of these candidates will meet voters at Haywood County Historic Courthouse for the “Republican Runoff Candidate Forum”.
Voters may be under the impression that they voted in the Primary and the candidates have been selected. That is not true. The field has been narrowed but there are major decisions still to be made at the Run-Off election on July 17th.
These Candidates will be present to answer questions in a forum type setting:
US Congressional Representative for 11th District: Mark Meadows
NC Lieutenant Governor: Dan Forest
NC Secretary of State: Kenneth Gardner and Edward Goodwin
NC Superintendent of Public Instruction: John Tedesco and Richard Alexander

“Every election is determined by the people who show up,” states Larry J. Sabato, Professor of Politics at the University of Virginia. It is time to defend the Constitution and ensure that elected officials reflect our values. This will be an informative forum that will grant insight into each of the candidates’ positions before casting votes.
This Forum will provide answers that Republican voters will need during the July 17th Election. Including Unaffiliated voters that selected the Republican Ballot will be allowed to vote for these races on July 17th. As a convenience, Early "One-Stop" voting begins on June 28th.
“Our political leaders will know our priorities only if we tell them… again and again… and if those priorities begin to show up in the polls.” ― Peggy Noonan
This runoff election is required because a candidate must receive at least 40% of the vote in any competition. When there is no single candidate that receives 40% or more the top two candidates must meet in a runoff election. The winner will face his/her democrat opponent in November for the specified position.
"If ever a time should come when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." ― Samuel Adams. Take a stand and make your decision about the candidates.
Everyone is welcome. Please bring your friends and/or neighbors and join the candidates on June 26th at 7:00 P.M. at the Haywood County Historic Courthouse in Waynesville.
