Waynesville Middle — Six Haywood County chorus students from Bethel and Waynesville Middle Schools participated in the North Carolina Middle School Honors Chorus held in Winston-Salem on Nov. 10 and 11.

Choral directors Joni Britt and Janna Brendell prepared the singers for the event and traveled with them to Winston-Salem.

The N.C. Middle School Honors Chorus was comprised of 157 of the best middle school singers in North Carolina.

Singers were chosen from over 900 middle school singers who auditioned at three sites across the state. The honor choir sang under the direction of internationally acclaimed conductor and educator, Sandra Snow, who is the director of choral activities at Michigan State University.

The Middle School Honors Chorus performed for North Carolina music teachers during their annual in-service conference in Winston-Salem.
