Haywood County TDA to hold budget forum

Apr 10, 2013

The Haywood County Tourism Development Authority will hold its annual budget forum at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, in the Gaines Auditorium of the Bethea Welcome Center at Lake Junaluska.

The purpose of the annual budget forum is for the TDA board of directors to review the zip code subcommittee recommendations for the 1% funding applications, the TDA finance committee’s 3% funding recommendations and the proposed 2013/14 HCTDA budget and receive input from the grant applicants and tourism industry partners.

Each of the five zip code subcommittees met in March to make recommendations for the 1% TDA funding that goes back to the zip code where it is collected.

The TDA Finance Committee met on April 10 to review the subcommittee recommendations for the 1% funding and to review and make recommendations on the 3% funding applications.

The TDA board of directors has final authority of approval for all TDA funds.  These recommendations will be reviewed by the full TDA Board of Directors and staff will present the proposed budget to the TDA Board for review and discussion.

The 1% and 3% funding recommendations and the proposed 2013/14 budget can be viewed online as of April 16, at www.haywoodcountytourismdevelopment.com.
