Haywood County Volunteers of the Year

The Haywood Volunteer Center recognized volunteer service in Haywood County and gave Volunteer of the Year awards to several people.

Holy Smoke from St Andrews Church received the award for Group Volunteer  for their service in fundraising for church activities as well as community outreach

Mary Margaret Curley received the Youth Volunteer Award for her work with the Holy Smoke group as well as with the Community Kitchen.

Fran Blankenship received the Individual Volunteer Award for her work with the Senior Leadership Team in Haywood County as well as Red Cross, Phone Assurance Program and many other activities.

Cris Ammons received the Senior Volunteer Award for work her work with 4-H Sew Cool Club for over 25 years.

Linda Nichols received the Elaine Kuhl Volunteer of the Year Award for her many years of working with Hospice.

We appreciate each of the volunteers dedication to their programs, the nominations from Haywood County will now be sent on to the State to be considered for the Governors Volunteer Service Award.

The awards were made possible through the cooperation of the Haywood County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, Haywood County Interagency Council and Haywood Jackson Volunteer Center.
