There's a new kid on the block — the quilt block, that is.

Haywood Lodge is the home of a new quilt block, "Wedding Rings," donated by Dionne Ghaussy in memory of her late grandmother, Betty Hancock. This pattern is said to illustrate the expression of the unbreakable love between a couple. The rings represent those exchanged during a wedding ceremony.

"Wedding Rings" hangs from the Maples and can be seen as drivers enter the parking lot of Haywood Lodge.

The quilt block was designed and created by Quilt Trails of Western North Carolina in Bryson City.
