Haywood Lodge & Spicewood Cottages Retirement Centers Honor Veterans
Haywood Lodge & Retirement Center and Spicewood Cottages hosted a Veterans Day social in honor of the residents who previously served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The veterans, who represented all branches of the military, along with their families, friends and other residents enjoyed refreshments, stories from the veterans and interesting facts about Veterans Day.
"It gives us a deep sense of pride knowing that we have so many veterans residing at our facilities," said Aaron Crawford, Executive Director. "Our veterans made so many sacrifices for our country and its citizens. I would like to also acknowledge the spouses, families and loved ones of the veterans as well," he added.
Veterans residing at the facilities include Braun Annich, R.L. Barnes, Jack Belcher, Glenn Boineau, Ernie Crawford, Carrol Devlin, Wayne Elliott, Howard Fuog, Fred Lindsay, Thurman McCracken, Hardin Nicholson, Jack Parrott, Arthur Pitts, Elvin "Monroe" Reynolds, Joe Soboslai and Walter Sorrells.
