Haywood native named president of FCCMA
Haywood County native Jill Scroggs Silverboard, assistant city manager for the city of Clearwater, Florida, has been named president of the Florida City and County Management Association (FCCMA) for 2014-15.
Silverboard has been a member of FCCMA for more than 21 years and previously served as president-elect, secretary-treasurer, district director and at-large director. She is a credentialed manager with ICMA, the national FCCMA affiliate.
Prior to joining the city of Clearwater, Silverboard served as city manager for the cities of Madeira Beach and Destin, Florida. She also spent eight years in various positions, including deputy city manager, at the city of Hallandale Beach, Florida. Silverboard is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Pinellas and served on the YWCA of Tampa Bay’s board of trustees from 2008 to 2011. She participates in United Way of Tampa Bay and volunteers for Religious Community Services in Clearwater.
Silverboard earned a master’s degree in public affairs at Western Carolina University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She and her family live in Seminole, Florida.
