Haywood residents serve this summer in Raleigh
Two Haywood County young men had the opportunity to serve at the state’s Capitol with N.C. Sen. Jim Davis this summer. Sam Dickson is the son of Chuck Dickson and Sybil Mann. He lives in Waynesville and is a rising sophomore at Swain County High School. He served as a page in the senate from June 25 to 28, and enjoyed learning about the workings of the legislature and meeting other pages from across North Carolina.
Hoefs follows politics and has concerns he desires to see addressed in government. He is an adult with developmental disabilities, who regularly attends vocational training at Haywood Vocational Opportunities. He served as a senate intern June 25 to June 2.
