DMV Customers are urged to call before visiting offices

RALEIGH — Slick roadways have caused many DMV driver license offices to cancel road tests early this morning, and many are having to curtail operations because of hazardous weather in western North Carolina. In addition, several license plate agencies in western North Carolina have been forced to close due to Friday’s winter weather.

The driver license office in Marshall, located adjacent to the French Broad River, is experiencing severe icing and has closed for Friday. Express service at the Asheville driver license office on Patton Avenue will continue as long as possible. Limited service is available throughout the western part of the state and offices as far east as Morganton have halted road tests.
